What is ISO 9001: 2008 ?
ISO 9001: 2008, Quality management systems, is an internationally accepted, worldwide recognized standard for quality assurance. This international standard, effective since December 2000, replaces ISO 9001, 9002 and 9003 of 1994 and lays down additional requirements compared with the earlier versions, i.e., process-like company management, continually measured improvement and client-friendliness are central. The supplier can use this international standard to show his competence; it can also be used for the assessment of the supplier’s competence by external parties.
