The Automotive Pixel Link (APIX) first generation provides a data throughput of up to 1Gbps (gross) with up to 847Mbps as net data video data rate. Due to different configuration options, distances of up to 40m can be realized. As on GigaSTaR, there is the capability of a side channel for such features as focus and exposure settings of cameras. Furthermore Inova offers different bus widths from 10 to 24 bit for pixel image data creating an optimally adjusted solution for your application.

 

It is possible to create a solution using only two twisted cable pairs. The use of capacitive signal coupling allows the connecting cable to also be used as the power supply of the above mentioned camera.

The Automotive/Advanced Pixel Link (APIX) 2nd generation is used for fast data transfer (up to 3 Gbit/s) across long distances (12m) using simple screened twisted cables. By reducing the data rate for longer distances, 40m connections are still possible as in APIX. Primary applications are for automobiles, particularly: driver information display (Cluster), rearview cameras (ADAS) and fellow passenger entertainment (Infotainment/RSE). HD quality images can be transported around vehicles in real time.

 

This new generation of APIX provides features like an MII (Ethernet), GPIO pins with lowest latency and an APIX1 mode (receiver) for backward compatibility.
