Internal clocking ensures deterministic power-up, and outputs always follow the outputs (“DC correct”). In some versions the clock can be disabled for ultra-low power consumption. IL500-Series Isolators are a cost-effective alternative to digital optocouplers in a number of applications including serial interfaces, isolated Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), isolated A/D converters, and isolated power interfaces.

NVE offers a full line of unique MSOP isolators. The world’s smallest isolators of their type, they can reduce board area by up to a factor of ten compared to single-channel PDIP isolators. Like all IsoLoop Isolators, these products feature excellent magnetic immunity and unlimited life. IsoLoop MSOP Isolators are available in a variety of input, output, and channel configurations. NVE also offers QSOP, SOIC, PDIP, narrow-body, and wide-body isolators.

QSOP Isolators

QSOP-16 isolators offer miniaturization without compromizing performance. Four and five-channel QSOP isolators are the world’s densest high-performance isolators, offering 110 Mbps, 600 Vrms working voltage, and 2.5 kVrms isolation voltage. Isolated RS-485 and CAN transceivers are by far the world’s smallest isolated bus transceivers, replacing a board full of components with a 4 mm x 5 mm part.

 IL600-Series Evaluation Board Manual
Two types of working Switch Mode Power Supply Demonsration Boards show how NVE“s unique MSOP Isolators can shrink Switch Mode Power Supplies, increase efficiency, and improve reliability. Isoloop Isolators isolate the synchronous rectification MOSFETs and the error voltage feedback signal. Two versions are available. SMPS1 boards use an IL610-1 failsafe isolator in the error voltage feedback circuitry for simplicity with 1 kV of isolation. SMPS2 uses a new IL710V-1 MSOP 2.5 kV isolator to provide a board rated at a full 2.5 kV isolation. Features of both demo boards are:

 

  • MSOP isolators for high density
  • Input voltage: 11 – 14 V
  • Output voltage: 3.3 V
  • Output current: 750 mA
  • Switching frequency: 130 kHz
