Single Phase EMI Filters

Typical applications for these filters include switching power supplies, motor controllers, PWM circuits, induction cooking and food service equipment, microwave ovens, induction heaters and other similar equipment. Single phase EMI/ RFI/ EMC filters are used to bring electrical and electronic products into compliance with National (FCC) and International EMC standards, such as CE and more. Our single phase EMI filters carry US (UL), Canadian (cUL/CSA) and European (IEC/ VDE/ Semko) agency approvals and are available in both general purpose and low leakage current medical versions. At our agency approved “in-house” test facility, US, Canadian and/or European safety approvals can be obtained quickly and cost effectively on any of our customized and custom product, if needed.

Three Phase EMI Filters

Our three phase filters are rated up to 480VAC, 520VAC and 600VAC for both Delta and WYE configurations. Current ratings are available up to 2500A. Single, dual and multi stage designs are available for specific needs. Versions rated at higher current and voltages can be offered upon request.

 

Typical applications for these EMI/ RFI/ EMC filters include 3-phase industrial drives, inverters, controllers, frequency converters and industrial machine tools. Other applications include industrial power supplies, UPS, fixed computer systems (mainframes), MRIs and X-Ray equipment, heavy duty industrial equipment and more.

IEC Inlet Filters

Easy to install and use, the filters are ideal for industrial and commercial electronics that require EMI/ RFI protection, including computers, communications equipment, LCD TVs, toys and sports and fitness equipment.

 

Our power entry EMI filters and power entry module carry US (UL), Canadian (cUL/CSA) and European (IEC/ VDE/ Semko) agency approvals and are available in both general purpose and low leakage current medical versions. DC EMI Filters

Astrodyne offers standard and custom DC EMI filters for all applications including solar, telecom and DC de-coupling. Ratings are available up to 1200 VDC and 2500 A.

Inverter EMI Filters

These AC and DC filters are used for applications that have frequency inverters or inverter-based control systems.

Medical Grade EMI Filters

Our complete line of off-the-shelf filters is available in a medical grade version. All filters are approved with variable line to ground capacitances to meet leakage current requirements of all applications and environments. Applications include patient medical devices, diagnostic equipment, surgical beds, MRI and X-ray machines and more.

Commercial, MRI Room & Shielded Enclosure Filters

Astrodyne’s MRI room and shielded room/ shielded enclosure filters help isolate inside (clean) environments from outside (dirty) electrical noise by attenuating electromagnetic interference (EMI) from outside sources. These filters can be critical to an MRI scan, a surgery, an EMI testing or a secure communication.

Appliance and Washing Machine Filters

Astrodyne manufactures a complete range of high quality standard, customized custom EMI filters for applications as diverse as portable power tools, vacuum cleaners, blenders, mixers, washing machines, refrigerators, other white goods, pumps, floor care equipment, treadmills, microwave ovens and power supplies.

Feed-Thru Filters

Our feed-through filters provide high insertion loss from KHz to GHz frequencies for applications such as enclosures, mobile shelters, shielded enclosures, base stations and switching equipment. Our feed through filters are available in T, π and double L type circuits and different mechanical configurations.

Military EMI Filters - COTS

Most MIL-COTS EMI filters’ ambient rating -40°C to +70°C (-40°F to +158°F) and operate in this range without any de-rating.

Tempest Filters

Astrodyne is a leading provider of TEMPEST EMI filters. Electronic equipment such as computers and other peripherals can leak sensitive information over conducted and radiated electromagnetic emanations.

These signals transmitted down an unprotected telephone or a power line can potentially be intercepted by an enemy or a competitors over the same telephone or power cable many miles away.

 

TEMPEST filters stop the high frequency EM signals (or noise) emanating inside the secure environment so these can’t travel outside the room/ facility over power or communication cables.

 

It’s an accepted industry standard to use filters that provide high insertion loss across the board rage of frequencies, such as 60dB or 80dB or 100dB from 14KHz or 100KHz to 10GHz. In certain cases cut off frequency goes further down.

 

Astrodyne offers a wide range of EMI/ RFI/ EMC filters that help our customers meet RED/Black separation requirements. We offer TEMPEST filters that provide 100dB insertion loss from 14kHz to 10GHz. Other TEMPEST filters series provide minimum 60dB insertion loss from 100kHz to 1GHz for secondary level of TEMPEST protection on individual equipment.

Telecom EMI Filters

Our extensive offering of telecom filters includes AC and DC EMI power line filters, and custom telecom EMI filters for 48 VDC platforms as well as board level DC-DC converter and related applications.

Harmonic Filters, PFC Coils, Line Reactors

Harmonic/EMI power line filters. PFC Coils and Line Reactors are designed to address Power Line Harmonics and Power Quality issues associated with the high frequency switching designs employed in today’s single phase and 3 phase equipment and systems.

These include devices that incorporate motor controllers, inverters and switch mode power supplies. These assists in reducing the third and higher harmonic energy of 50/60HZ power frequency networks, reduce THD and improve Power Factor to bring equipment and systems into compliance with international regulations, such as required by the CE and related directives, resulting in lower power losses, greater power efficiencies and reduced power consumption.
